We received a letter in the mail today demanding $4,098.07 from a Recovery Service for a supposed collision in Feb, of 2004 - 2 1/2 years later! And this is the first we've heard! We were not involved in any accident then. I tried to call the company but only got voice mail. Is this some sort of a new scam? The letter says "Should it be determined that you are responsible..." and also "Our client would like to settle this in an amicable way", offering "reasonable monthly installments". It also threatened to have my husband's driver's license revoked. Have you heard of this???

Monthly installments!!!! Let them take action. If you were not involved in any action and if this is scam, they will not mail you. talk to your local police about this.

I have never heard anything like this, have you sought legal counsel?
