Default no-compete issue.

hello members,
few years before, my ex-employer had me sign a no-compete for 3 yrs. Now, after 5 1/2 yrs later, I started my own business on part and ex-customers of my former employer starts contacting me and said they would never have that company do work for them again. Do I have anything to worry?
