I am an independent web design contractor. Recently, a business hired me to design their website, we signed a contract and the job is done. But now they say they need my social security number for their tax purposes. Please suggest do I have to disclose it to them?

If a taxable money has been paid by a business to an individual, the business is required by law to send you a 1099 form with the amount of the payment on it. You will then be required to pay all applicable taxes on this money.
