I business is to buy things from people and sell them online. Please inform me what I need to do to ensure I am protected in case someone falsely represents themselves and sells me stolen property? Is there any sort of protection form etc available?

There is almost nothing to protect yourself in such a business. Just buy your products from trusted sources only.
