Default civil judgement & no info.?

Hello all of you,
I am wondering what a Civil Judgment is and can a person have a Civil Judgment filed against them and they not know it? Any response will be appreciated.
Thank you!

I would like to say that it's a judicial ruling or determination made concerning the rights of individuals, and yes, your due process rights entitle you to notice of a claim made against you and the opportunity to defend yourself against that claim. So, you should know it.
