Hi, my fiancé has been in credit card debt for about a year and a half now. he owes and outstanding amount of money to Bank of America. I believe the debt was sold to a Collection Agency and now the person who is continuously calling us about the debt is now threatening to take legal action. What is it that they can do to him in court? He does not have anything to his name, no house, no car, nothing. We live in an apartment and are struggling to make it as it is. They don't understand that he cannot pay them and he may have to go on energy assistance, and welfare soon because he is barely affording rent. So exactly what can they do to him? I know he can't go to jail....
