Default calling un-necessarily??

Hello guys,
Is it fine for someone to call your acquaintances, neighbors, employers business relationships, and others for the sole purpose of giving adverse information on you? Whether you did it or not?
Thank you.

If the information that was given was true, you have no libel/defamation type claim against the person.
