i recently was arrested with possession of marijuana ... when i was arrested they asked me questions but never read me my rights? When i was getting taken to the jail i asked another officer " arent you supposed to read me my rights?" he replied with , the other one is supposed to read them to you... and said that he hadnt asked me any questions yet so it didnt matter, but the other had. Do you think i should go with a public defender or do you think if i got a lawyer the money would be worth it? Them not reading my rights, does that help?

Though it is not that a big issue but anyway you can tell this in the court. But, it will not help your case in anyway. Going by public defender will be fine but if you have enough money then you can choose your own lawyer.
