Default pin in chips?

Hi people,
My brother found an open safety pin in his mouth while eating chips from a reputed company. It cut the side of his mouth a little. I contacted company and they want me to send them the empty bag and the safety pin. What will you say, do I have a case or should I just send it to them? Any idea?
Thank you.

If he didn't need any medical care then your case is limited to the cost of the chips. You can't sue for what might have happened.
