i have just settled on an auto accident and collected medical expenses and punitive damages. While being treated, lawyer told not to tell my insurance carrier that my treatment was from an accident. so i lied to them. He included and collected for the medical expenses paid by the insurer. He told that it's bad that the insurance carrier didn't file a lien against accident and i don't have to pay their bill. i believe if i used their bill in arriving at a medical expense amount that was awarded, i must pay the insurance carrier or they will have a legal right to the money from me. i want to know if they can ever come after me for payment?
