I can really feel where you are coming from. First of all , if your Attorney agreed to handle your case for $1500 then that is what you should pay your attorney. If the Attorney is not handling your case properly and it sounds like they are not , you can file a complaint with the Bar Association. I would first try to get the extra money back from the Attorney for charging you more than was agreed too . Also, it sounds like your ex's Attorney is playing games with your Attorney with all the filing motions and other paper work. Your Ex must have some money to waste or he too is being taken advantage of, by his Attorney. You could both just fired both your Attorneys and work it out between you if at all possible. The Attorneys love to milk their clients for as long as their clients will allow them too. Good Luck! By the way court orders have to be honored by your EX and must not be ignored or your EX will be incontempt of court, which is a big no no! Get your money back from your attorney the overage that is ridiculous!
