Default changing the death certificate?

my friend was found dead hanging from a ceiling fan. The death was immediatley ruled a suicide and this was put on the death certificate. later we found, she died as a result of auto-asphyxiation. We want the death certificate to be revised and have the death ruled accidental. As long as her death was ruled a suicide, her life insurance company will certainly not pay it as an accidental death. Is there anything we can do?

i think if she held the life insurance policy for a long enough period of time, she may be covered even if the cause of death is determined to be a suicide. Check the terms of the policy.
