Hi,
My test was taken during a pregnancy for gestational diabetes. If you have it, a special diet must be followed to ensure the baby is not born with or gets diabetes later in life.
We were told if the test came back positive that a doctor or nurse would contact us. We did not hear anything back from the office. We assumed everything was ok. some days later another doctor asked if i was made aware of the results because it was not listed in my file. the doctor checked with the lab and found out me tested positive for gestational diabetes. now, the doctor is sending me to a nutritionist tomorrow so that a strict diet can be followed.
My concern is that if my child gets/has diabetes and it could have been
prevented, the practice is at fault for not following up on the test results
from the lab and communicating it to the patient.
My question is can I file a complaint/report so that it is on record that
the doctor's office was at fault for not verifying the test results?
