Default time limit for suing?

hi there,
i need some info i.e. if you are still suffering from the effects of a malpractice, are you still eligible to gain a portion of money? And if you decide to take your claim to court, is there a minimum of time you have to sue or create a suit?
thank you!

Usually, there is three year statute of limitation based upon when you discovered the injury and five years from when the injury was committed upon you.
