Default two lawyer at same time?

Hello guys,
Two attorneys contact me about being interested in my Medical Mal case. My husband suggested me to make copies of my records and send to both as if one doesn't want to pursue it we still have the other and my statues is getting close. The attorney I had before had my records for 6 months and told me my case has merit but he didn't want to risk his money and lose. My medical mal attorney know nothing about my type of cancer which can really set a person back when it comes to the statues of limitations. Please suggest, is this appropriate to have two lawyers looking at your case at the same time?
Thanks

Attorneys don't like clients who shop around like this. They waste everyone's time and are not easy to work with. Medical malpractice is usually done on a contingency, where the patient doesn't pay unless the case is won.
