I am a 29 year old female. I recently had a heart attack and my cardiologist blamed it on a blood clot caused by my birth control pills. please inform me whether, did I assume the risk by taking the pills and knowing the side effects?

Though I am not a medical practitioner but i think everyone has seen the prescribing labels on all OCPs, saying, "The serious side effects of the pill occur very infrequently, especially if you are in good health and are young. However, you should know that the following medical conditions have been associated with or made worse by the pill.i.e. Blood clots in the legs, (thrombophlebitis), lungs (pulmonary embolism), stoppage or rupture of blood vessel in the heart (heart attack or anginal pectoris) or other organs of the body, high blood pressure etc."
So, this would be a known risk of the medication which you chose to take, so you don't have a claim against either the drug company or your doctor.

Yes I also heard that, when blood volume accumulated in an area of the veins and reached its maximal elasticity. It will perforate and break out. It can happen in any part of the body. and this may be the prime reason of this blood clots.
