Default dentist's negligence.

hello all there,

I had an abscess in my gums below a tooth that had a root canal and a crown. dentist tried to drain it, but while doing so, cuts one of my nerves.
I went to the new surgeon referred by him, who went in and properly drained the abscess.
But my chin is still totally numb around that region.
i want to know how to proceed if I want to sue? any help out there?
thank you!

There is a significant known risk of damaging a nerve when the gum has to be cut below the gum line. you should have received a consent for surgery document that explained the procedure and noted the risks associated.
consult this with a medmal attorney.
