Default bounce laws?

Hello experts,
My uncle was retired person, he want to withdraw pension from his pension fund from his office, he commit broker to give worth 4% of total amount which he received and give him check of $1000. But he restricted that check to withdraw that amount by the broker. Now the person with which the check was given said i file the FIR agenst my uncle. Is there any law to protect my uncle? The broker is corrupt person.

If you recieve any legal notice from the broker, then send a reply to the legal notice detailing therein that the check was not towards a debt.
