Default Parents responsibility??

Hello guys,
Our daughter is classified as "Severely Emotionally Disturbed" and she is in therapy presently. Sometime (rarely), he has acted out as a sexual predator. We want to know whether we are held financially responsible in a civil suit if she hurts someone even though she are is "mentally ill" and we are doing all we can shy of selling the house to get her treatment?
Thank you.

Her mental illness will not be a defense if you are sued for her actions because you know she is ill and you know she has attacked in the past. Try to get her in a residential program.
