Hello all of you,
My son was convicted of few charges and ordered to pay parents restitution for damage to vehicle. Was on probation 2 years and he paid restitution to court clerk or probation officer. Receipts are not to be found as son dosen't keep anything. Probation has now been over 6 months so parents go to probation officer and are told that he dropped the ball and no restitution was ever collected. The probation officer said only recourse is to sue Son. If the court ordered the restitution, shouldn't the probation office be responsible for collecting it? Please inform why the probation officer who said he dropped the ball would not be responsible?
Thanks for any help offered.
