I have always sent my lyrics in as copyright, all rights reserved. I want to know if it is legal that someone uses my lyrics, and is there a time limit on my lyrics in any way. I thought I saw something about 90 days somewhere but not sure. I do realize that having paid for a demo to be made with my lyrics does not mean that I own the music, even though the demo company told me it was mine and sent me a certificate. I am wondering if the demo company will use my lyrics w/o my permission.

You have a copyright on the lyrics as soon as the lyrics are "fixed in a tangible format" i.e. as soon as they are written down. Copyright applies automatically but to enforce your copyright, however, you will need to register your copyright.
Also, there is no time limit and you can register your copyright at any time.
