Default discussing charges with others?

Hello there,
Few months ago, I was stopped at airport and had about a joint of weed and a one-hitter. Then, they let me go on the plane syaing if they decided to charge me, I would get a letter. Now, I got a letter with misdemeanor charges of para and marij. As I don't live in that state, so, needed to have a lawyer go to court for me. The court said that I had an outstanding charge for not paying for food at a restaurant that i have never heard before. The court started calling my family, who have the same name as me as they couldn't find me. Is it against the law for them to call people other than me discussing the charges, where, when, detailed info on what happened with people who are not me? Any advice?
Thank you.

As per law, the SOL applies to the time between the crime and when you are charged. Once you left the state, the SOL clock stopped ticking if you hadn't been charged. And charges brought against someone are public record and police could put it on a billboard if they wanted to.
