Default theft blame on daughter?

Hi all of you,
My daughter work for a spa as a manicurist. Last wednesday, she was doing a manicure for a lady, when finish she walk the client to the back to get ready for her pedicure, and when daughter walk back up she realize the lady left her bag there so she bought the bag down for her. As the client went up the front to pay and realize all her cash was missing from her wallet. Next day two cops came and start questioning everyone.. but my daughter got question the most and they ask for her personal information like address and phone number. Afterward they mention if they can fingerprint her to see if it match the one on the bag. Is she in trouble for doing nothing? Please advice.
Thank you.

She can just refuse to talk to the police officers again, and she can hire an attorney. If she cannot afford an attorney, she can wait until she's charged and then ask for a public defender. It seems like there is not likely enough to support a case going to trial. She might still be charged if they even have a circumstantial case.

From what you described, the case looks weak.
