At my new job, a customer's money order and receipt disappeared somewhere between the desk where the money was paid and the boss's bank deposit. I believe I handed it to my boss. now my boss says he is holding the $175.00 out of my check because its loss was my mistake. It must surely be illegal. Can he do it?

i think if he doesnt prove that it was ur fault then he cant deduct. otherwise see your job agreements clause for losses etc.
